Direito humano à água: uma análise sob a luz do recente marco legal do saneamento básico

Abstract

This research examined the new legal framework for basic sanitation in the country and the right to drinking water as a fundamental human right likewise the guarantee to all citizens, analyzing the world historical context of the conferences that started the right to drinking water, as well as the Brazilian laws that regards the theme, highlighting the current status of the lower social economic class in the country - without basic sanitation and access to drinking water, and how the recent legal framework seeks to remedy the current deficit in Brazil's reality, attributing to the Agência Nacional de Águas e Saneamento Básico the responsibility for the reference standards in the definition of basic sanitation services.
