Aspectos gerias sobre o sistema carcerário feminino no Brasil: uma realidade degradante e indigna

Abstract

This article aims to address the female prison system in Brazil and in the state of Paraná, especially with regard to aspects related to the way women are subjected to prison; the places of detention; and the application of constitutional rights and the Criminal Execution Law. The research also brings statistical data that reveal the profile of the women inmates and indicate the reasons why these women enter the prison system and the female prison population indexes in the country. From this, it can be admitted that current reality does not match what is provided for in legislation in vigor and has reflected numerous inadequacies regarding the form of imprisonment that undermines fundamental rights and guarantees, subjecting these women to degrading treatment in the prison system. This research observed statistical and public data provided by the National Penitentiary Department (Depen) of the State of Paraná and, demonstrate the degrading situations in the State of Paraná but which surely represents the national reality.
