A importância da anamnese odontológica no diagnóstico da SJB - Síndrome do Jaleco Branco

Abstract

The present study presents the importance of dental anamnesis, which has for objective to enable a treatment that does not harm the patient's health status, check for the presence of any general comorbidity of the patient, if he uses medications, in addition to facilitating the diagnosis of diseases that may require special care. It is observed that in the clinical routine many patients have hypertension, anxiety, in addition to other signs and symptoms. In this way, the dental surgeon needs to be able to assist a patient with such alterations, starting with a detailed anamnesis, given that the non-realization of the initial examination may cause problems in the trans-operative period. The SAH (systemic arterial hypertension) is a change in blood pressure for a long period of time, being an asymptomatic disease. On the other hand, the SJB (white coat syndrome), can be observed when there is an alteration of the blood pressure value in a medical/dental environment, but when in everyday situations it is normalized. This study aims to report a case of a seventyeight years female patient diagnosed with SJB. She reports systemic arterial hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and is currently in a wheelchair, anxious and fearful, depending partially on care. The treatment was carried out with all the care that requires the patient's general condition, thus opting for treatment at hospital level with general anesthesia. The professionals involved sought to comply with the proposed protocol throughout the service, thus obtaining a safe and satisfactory treatment, understanding that a thorough anamnesis was extremely important to the obtaining this result.
