Abstract

The article reports the high growth of the elderly population in Brazil, which is a universal fact and points to the need for social, political and economic changes with the purpose of investments and the elaboration of institutions that meet the new demand, both in number of elderly people assisted, and the quality of care offered. The long-term institution for the elderly (ILPI) needs not only to welcome the elderly but to welcome as many of them as possible, giving them the opportunity to be inserted in society naturally and to obtain a better quality of life. For this purpose, some correlates of institutions that have adopted systems (ILPI), however, are associated with intergenerational activities with proposals different from each other. The objective of this study is to understand these differences, to analyze mainly points of interest, to interweave all information in an appropriate way and apply them in a single complex, the village, an intergenerational space that offers security, comfort, well-being and social inclusion.
