Impacto da acupuntura na pressão arterial de pacientes hipertensos em tratamento medicamentoso: uma revisão integrativa

Abstract

The Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICS) are therapeutic treatments, whose focus is to treat and prevent various diseases, such as depression and hypertension. Arterial hypertension (AH) is a multifactorial clinical condition characterized by sustained elevation in blood pressure ≥ 140 and / or 90 mmHg. These are pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures that promote the control of SAH. Among the practice of physical exercises and an adequate diet, PICS are also considered non-pharmacological measures. Objective: to know and understand the impact of acupuncture on blood pressure in hypertensive patients under drug treatment. Method: this is a integrative review of field research, whose results were based on human responses. Results: the present study analyzed four studies, two of them using the laser-acupuncture technique and the other two using the auricular bleeding, both of that are acupuncture techniques. There was a reduction in BP levels in almost everyone who participanted. The reduction with auricular bleeding is the least significant. Conclusion: Acupuncture, in fact, promotes the reduction of BP pressure levels. However, further studies are needed to confirm the efficiency, other benefits of this therapy and later, they can be implemented with more widely in health services to contribute to the health of more hypertensive patients
