Efeito farmacológico de plantas do gênero Kalanchoe SPP.: revisão literária

Abstract

Medicinal plants are used as herbal medicines both in popular medicine and in Brazilian clinic. Many drugs on the market today had their active ingredients provided with medicinal plants, which have been identified by studies that have proved their effectiveness against different diseases. Within the biodiversity of plants existing in nature, we have a genus that stands out, being called Kalanchoe. The plant species belonging to the Kalanchoe genus are native to southern Africa and other parts of the world (for example, Australia, Western Europe and the USA). The reasons for the success of the invasion of the species are discussed based on its multiple reproduction mechanisms and its pharmacological activity. The study of plants of the kalanchoe genus, demonstrates that in their pharmacological characteristics that are contained in them, they can be used in the treatment of the most diverse diseases, such as: gastrointestinal, injuries, anesthetic, anticoagulant and antitumor. In this way the objective of this review is to demonstrate the advances in scientific research on the pharmacotherapeutic potential of plants of the genus Kalanchoe. The methodology of integrative literature review will be used, allowing a scientific study in a systematic and wide way, enabling the integration of the knowledge produced among the most diverse researchers in order to verify how science is progressing. The research will be carried out using the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Science Direct as sources of recent information from national and international publications. Finally, we hope to provide greater knowledge about plants of the Kalanchoe genus and the benefits it can bring us and help to encourage new clinical and scientific research that proves its varied therapeutic potential and other phytotherapeutic actions.
