Abstract

Oral health is essential for general well-being, affecting physical, nutritional, mental and social aspects. The loss of teeth can impair chewing, leading to nutritional imbalance and deterioration in physical health. In addition, missing teeth, especially front teeth, have an impact on self-esteem and social interaction. Immediate prostheses have emerged as an effective solution, providing both aesthetic and functional recovery, which improves the patient's quality of life. Installed soon after tooth extraction, they help preserve facial structure, chewing and emotional support, avoiding the negative impact of becoming toothless. The aim of this study was to report the surgical and prosthetic planning of an oral rehabilitation case using a maxillary immediate partial denture, discussing the aesthetic, functional and psychological benefits provided to the patient after tooth extraction. The clinical case reported exemplifies the benefits of an upper immediate total prosthesis in a patient who achieved aesthetic and functional recovery immediately after multiple extractions. Guidance was crucial to the success of the treatment and the improvement of the patient's self-esteem.
