Terapia fotodinâmica no tratamento de herpes labial - relato de caso

Abstract

Labial Herpes is an infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), clinically manifested through blisters, vesicles on the vermilion of the lip and adjacent tissues. People present symptoms such as burning, tingling and heat before the development of vesicles. There are options for the treatment to this pathology, however, the discomfort that the patient feels, like the pain in the affected region, leads to an increasingly search for a therapy that settle this. The aim of this report is to present results of the use of photodynamic therapy in conjunction with methylene blue, which have antimicrobial and regenerative action, for the treatment of Labial Herpes. A patient complaining of herpes on the upper left lip after the procedure of lip micropigmentation, laser therapy was proposed in order to improve the appearance of the wound, discomfort and pain. A great improvement can be seen in the appearance of the wound, reduction of symptoms and healing, making photodynamic therapy of a wholesome relevance and a treatment option in cases of Labial Herpes.
