Avaliação do conhecimento de acadêmicos de odontologia sobre a Hepatite B, em Universidade do Norte do Paraná

Abstract

This research has the purpose to evaluate the knowledge of students associated in the Dentistry school in the year of 2022, including all current grades, about the Hepatitis B theme. For the gathering of answers a questionnaire was used, composed of objective questions, which was applied face-to-face in the classroom obtaining the most possible subscriptions. Among the 402 participant students, 294 answered the questionnaire. The data was listed and inserted in graphics and tables. The prevalent age of the participants was between 19 and 21 years old, being 215 (73.12%) female and 79 (26.88%) male. It was reported that (8.84% of students) have had some contact with Hepatitis B carries patients . Only 14.96% students said it was a fatal disease and 60.54% said it was a common disease. 82.31% of the interviewed were able to answer that the etiological agent responsible for the transmission of the disease is a virus. As more susceptible individuals, 52.04% of the students chose health professionals. Therefore, the data obtained has allowed the evaluation of the level of knowledge of the interviewees about the general profile of Hepatitis B and its correlation with Dentistry, in addition to verifying the main way of getting knowledge about the subject
